Apple Pie

Ingredients:
6-8 tart apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced (6 cups)
1 cup sugar
2 tbsp flour
1 tsp ground cinnamon
dash ground nutmeg
2 9-inch pie crusts
2 tbsp butter

Directions:
If apples lack tartness, sprinkle with lemon juice.  Combine sugar, flour, spices, and dash of salt.  Line pie plate with crust.  Sprinkle with dry mixture.  Mix the rest of the dry mixture with apples.  Fill pie with apple mixture.  Dot with butter.  Cover with top crust.  Get air out, and then seal crusts together with cold water.  Cut slits for steam to escape.  Cover crust with foil.  Bake at 400 degrees for 50 minutes, uncover crust, and cook 10 more minutes.
